Almost the weekend ladies!! I hope everyone has something fun and productive they will be doing, whether doing things around the house, garden, crafts, creating - - - we all do so many things!!
This morning I'm coming to ask you for your expertise! I have tried looking all over this world wide web and you wouldn't believe some of the answers I get to this question. I guess my computer just cannot compute what my brain really wants to say (oh, now that's a scary thing to think about!!) so here I am! Why didn't I come to you first?? My goodness, YOU ALL are the EXPERTS in all things fixable!! If it is fixable. I think it is - so here it is - - -
See how the wicker is breaking off and unweaving around the bottom of the legs? .

I have a lovely three piece set - Loveseat, and two large chair. OK - maybe not so lovely right now, but I think if I can re cane these and paint them, they would be!!!
So - I need help from my fixing up friends - they either get fixed and get used - or in 2 weeks it's yard clean up week and they get kicked to the curb! (By the way, I picked these up second hand as a gal who I was yard sale hunting with said they'd be easy to fix. Don't see her enough right now to get any questions answered!)
Any suggestions?? Ideas?? Secrets?? Help??!!
Thank you, my friends!! I know if there is a way, you'll know.
Have a great weekend!!
Hugs,
Donna
I am sorry but I am of no help! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and Mother's Day, Dear Donna! *HUGS*
ReplyDeleteI have no experience with wicker. I hope you get some help!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Mother's Day!
Hi Donna, I just came from Becky's blog(Junk to Joy)and glad I did-I am originally a Ca. girl, lived in No.Ca. 55 yrs before moving to Co. I see we love the same things, I'm going to follow you. The reason I came by was because you mentioned that Google Chrome solved the issues with uploading more photos(after getting a message your space was filled)-so yesterday I started with Google Chrome but so far I still can't upload new photos to my layout. Did you do anything specific after you got Chrome?
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Mother's Day and come visit me.

Oh-I wish I could help but I don't know anything about caning- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHi Donna, I wish I could help but I don't know anything about caning either:( The same thing happened to mine. I just cut it off and super glued it.....It's holding up so far. Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day, Gail
ReplyDeleteI would just glue all the loose pieces around the bottom of the leg and give it a little paint. You could purchase "caning" or whatever those pieces are that they use for basket making and fill in where the wicker has broken off. If the chairs are in decent shape, just glue and paint and enjoy them. They have "character" right? Good luck.

Oh my friend, I saw some ideas from other blog friends for your problem and I hope they help! Unfortunately I have no experience on this as well...
ReplyDeleteHope it's fixed soon and have a Happy Mother's Day!!
All the best,
LS xoxo
As with everyone else, I am no help! But I like what Danielle said, they have character! Just do what you can, paint and enjoy. We all have a few blemishes, right?
