Since I'm away doing Grandma things this week, I'd like to share a card I did
a while back.
This is an Iris Fold technique. It's time consuming and tedious, but beautiful when completed. You have to cut small strips, fold them and then arrange them in the image you want to design. Since it was my first attempt I settled for an easy design.
The card opens with a personal letter to the bride and groom, tied with a satin ribbon and a heart charm.
The first fold out reveals the initial of their last name and Kim's name and a place for her photo and some personal journaling.
The Next fold reveals Jeff's name and a place for a photo and journaling as well, showing the middle

The center gate opens
to reveal a heart completely surrounded by silver micro beads (which I wish
showed up better!) There are several hidden pockets with cards for journaling
and photos. I really loved the way this turned out. It was so big, I had to
make a matching box for it to fit in during transport on the plane and storage
for them!
Lots and lots of love
and time went into creating this card! It was worth every second I spent on it
as I watched them open it and my son kept saying how beautiful it was and showed
it to everyone who came by.
Thank you for taking
time to look at my card.
Blessings,
Donna
PS Having problems
with blogger again, I can't seem to preview before publishing. So, if this
doesn't sit well, I will need to fix it when I return home.

I absolutely love it! The outside is called "Iris folding", and I've drawn a few zentangles called "paradox" that look like that too. Both are soooooo time consuming!! But you've done a gorgeous job! And the folding and initials and all of that is all you!! And very, VERY well done!!!!
